Watch for bait and switch pricing!!

In general: The hotel is definitely in need of some renovations. Limited to no parking for guest. Rooms are clean but have broken shelves and torn carpets in them. Management is no where to be seen. House keeping did not visit the room the entire 2 night stay and then we were charged a $100 room damage fee for an item they claimed we damaged but did not. The room price was quoted at $138 per night and ended up being $238 after taxes and everything else at check in. Then we were charged $100 more 2 days after we checked out. Bait and switch from being to end. Never again! Location and surroundings: There are less expensive hotels that are much nicer closer to town center. I think part of the problem with this hotel is they can take advantage of people needing a place to stay close to the hospital. The VA and another hospital is within walking distance. Not really the best part of town to stay in, more of the low income run down side of what appears to be a nice town to visit for vacation. I will probably revisit Charleston but I will not stay in this place again. Service: The front desk people were very nice and helpful with suggestions. There was never any Management members in site, there were supervisors but there answer to everything was that is a question for management. Dining: The crew that takes care of the free breakfast area are great. They are very attentive to cleaning and keeping all containers full and ready for all guest. Room: No view from our room of anything other than the hospital. Repairs needed when we checked in but not something that would make our stay unpleasant. We were charged a $100 room damage fee for something that was not broken when we left. Could have been broken by the maid and her 3 children running up and down the halls when she was trying to clean the rooms but nothing was damaged by us what little time we stayed in the room. No clean up at all for a 2 night stay, no clean towels or anything. Housekeeping was never in our room all weekend. Useful tips: DO NOT book this hotel on the fly online. They will quote you one price and change it once you have given credit card information to secure the room. Check room for damage arrive and before you leave. If you find anything out of sort call for a manager (good luck finding one) to show it was not damaged during your stay. If you do stay here find a parking space and keep it and use Uber to get around whenever you can.

It was convenient to the historical district, easy to get to places from that location, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Poor check-in and check-out. Insufficient parking. Breakfast choice was bad. Kitchen and dining tables were dirty.Location not as advertised. Generally poorly managed.

    Fabulous

The Inn was relatively inexpensive, thr staff were excellent, the hotel was clean and the morning breakfast was done well.

The only thing that was not to up to standards was the size of the bed. As advertised the bed was supposed to be a queen size bed, but the reality it was a double bed or some miner variation on that size. The size made if difficult to sleep two.

    Good

The motel was an older but adequate facility and the staff was friendly. They offer a decent continental breakfast and dining area.

It is not within the old historic district but fairly close. The location is extremely close quarters and parking is limited and not easily accessed. There is a bank next door which offers extra parking on weekends and overnight on week days. The motel is also located across from the VA hospital which may or may not be a plus for some.

helpful staff at reception. After minor hickup (I parked in handicapped place, but it wasn't really very visible) apologies from their side and info that the sign would be replaced.

    Exceptional

The Comfort Inn was budget friendly. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It was located on a city trolley stop so traveling into the historical area of the city was very easy and free. The continental breakfast was above average. I was extremely pleased with the accommodations. I would stay there again and recommend it to others.

Not Much. The staff were friendly and polite

We reserved a king and got2 reg beds. staff lowered price $20/nite Shower drain did not drain well. Had to stand in water to take a shower. Refrig was in a cabinet. When you try to open the refrig door the refrig slides forward. The top drawer on the cabinet moved out on its own whenever you touched the cabinet. The lower ac cover was hanging off. While cleaning, the door to our room and several rooms were propped open for anyone to enter and help themselves to our belongings or the hotel's items. We did not have anything of ours taken, My spouse comments that the bed skirts looked like they were never ironed or fluffed.

I was very disappointed. It is very far from the historic district but is popular with veterans as it is just across the street from the va hospital.

    Very good

Staff were very friendly. Front desk lady was very diplomatic with an upset customer never losing her cool. The man later came back to apologize to her.

The room (526) was a bit dated and our main complaint was the television was very dark. Not many tv channels.
